Buqsum is one of the cookie recipes I like to make with my kids. It is so easy to make and not messy. The sesame seeds add nutty savory flavor, which makes it good to eat in the morning with a glass of milk or a cup of tea. This recipe makes roughly 30 – 35 pieces of Buqsum.

  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. ground cardamom
  • 1 Cup Mazola Oil
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 1/4 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 Cups sesame seeds

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine eggs, sugar, cardamom, and Mazola oil in a bowl. Mix well for 5 minutes with an electric mixer.
  3. Add flour and baking powder and knead until a soft dough forms (It might be a bit sticky, but don’t worry)
  4. Coat your hands with a little bit of oil; this will help you work with the dough without it sticking to your hands. let it rest for 2 minutes.
  5. Take a small amount of dough and mold it into a thin, tall shape (like a finger). Repeat with remaining dough.
  6. Roll each piece in sesame seeds then place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 13-15 minutes.
