Chicken Kabobs (دجاج مشوي)

  • 7 boneless and skinless chicken breasts. Cut into small cubes.1 cup yoghurt
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp. cumin
  • ½ tbsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • ½ tbsp. black pepper
  • 3 tbsp. za’atar
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 white onion cut into 1-2 inches pieces
  • 1 bell pepper cut into 1-2 inches pieces
  • Wooden skewers soaked in water for about 30 minutes before grilling time


  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl (I use my hands to mix everything.) cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. Preheat the grill for high heat
  3. Thread chicken, onion and bell pepper alternately onto the skewers.
  4. Lightly brush the grill grate with olive oil. Place the skewers on the grill. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes. Flip the skewers so they don’t get burnt from one side.
