Cinnamon Flowers (وردات السينابون)

I call this dish “cinnamon flowers” because of its shape. I added milk chocolate toffee bits and used toffee sauce to drizzle, which gave it a nice taste. The size of the flowers can change based on your preference.

First, I made the dough and divided into 8 pieces. I rolled the dough and put some sugar mix on top.


Second, I rolled the dough then I put one end inside the other to create the doughnut shape.


Third, I cut the edge of the doughnut.


Then I twisted the strands.



  • Brown Sugar Mix:
    • 1 cup dark brown sugar
    • 1 cup of milk chocolate toffee bits
    • 3 tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup yoghurt
  • ¼ cup oil
  • 1 tbsp. yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • Water as needed
  • Toffee for drizzling


  1. for the sugar mix: mix all ingredients in a bowl and keep it aside until needed.
  2. In a bowl mix (Yoghurt, Oil, Yeast, Sugar, Salt)
  3. Add flour and baking powder to the mixer and Knead with your hands add water while kneading until a soft dough forms. In a clean surface put some flour, put the dough and knead using the heel of your hand until the dough is elastic and nothing is sticking on your hands.
  4. Grease a bowl, put the dough and cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in a warm area for about an hour to let it double in size.
  5. Cut the dough in to 8 pieces
  6. Use the rolling pin and roll on floured surface one piece of the dough to make a flat thick circle. (Don’t make it thin)
  7. Spread some of the brown sugar mix on the flat dough
  8. Roll the dough then stick one end inside the other. You will have a doughnut shape. Then move it to the baking shape. (Use parchment paper)
  9. Use kitchen scissors and cut all around the sides of doughnut shaped dough.
  10. Twist the strands of the dough to make the cinnamon face up. (To make it look like a flower)
  11. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
  12. Drizzle some of the Toffee sauce before serving it.
