Fillo cheese sandwich (سندويش الجبن بالفيلو)

سندويش الجبن بالفيلو ـ عربي

This is a simple and easy recipe for breakfast or as a snack. I used the Fillo dough because I like the crispy texture with the taste of the cheese.



  • 3 layers of Fillo dough
  • 2 tbsp. Philadelphia cheese
  • 2 tbsp. Italian cheese mix
  • 1 tsp Za’atar. (Or fresh mint chopped)
  • 1/3 tsp black pepper
  • 1/3 tsp cumin
  • Sesame seeds
  • 1 egg yolk


  1. Keep the Filo dough layered on a flat surface.
  2. Mix the cheese, spices and the zat’tar.
  3. Put the cheese in the middle of the Fillo dough.
  4. Close the dough from all sides (fold it over itself).
  5. Brush the top with the egg yolk and spread some sesame seeds.
  6. Bake it in the oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown at 350 degrees.
