Nut Tart (تارت اللوز)

This is another recipe for the tart. This time I used nuts, honey and Nutella. As I mentioned in the previous post that there are many different ways to prepare tarts, you just have to be creative. For making the dough, I used the same recipe from the “Fruit Tart” post.

There are many ways to make the dough for this recipe and many ways to bake it. Some put dried beans on top of the dough to prevent it from rising. For me, I used a fork and poked the dough many times in the middle. However, as a tip, if the dough rises, use a small spoon to press the center of the tarts immediately after taking them out of the oven while they are still hot.Fruit Tart02

  • For the Tart:
    • 1 stick of unsalted butter, room temperature
    • ½ cup powdered sugar
    • 1 egg
    • Pinch of salt
    • ¼ tsp vanilla
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups mixed unsalted nuts, crushed
  • Nutella as needed
  • Honey as needed


  1. In a bowl mix butter, sugar, salt, vanilla and the egg.
  2. Add flour gradually and knead until you get a soft dough.
  3. Put the dough in the fridge for30 minutes.
  4. Take a small piece of the dough put it in the mold. Press with your fingers to cover the inner part of the mold with a thin layer of dough. (You can also roll out the dough then cut it into small pieces that fit the mold. Place each piece one at a time into the mold.)
  5. Use a fork to poke the bottom of the each tart many times.
  6. Place the molds on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Combine the crushed nuts with honey or Nutella (you choose the flavor you like) mix well until all nuts are covered and becomes sticky.
  8. Put a small amount of the nut mix in the tarts
  9. Serve at room temperature.
