Olive Bread (خبز الزيتون)

خبز الزيتون ـ عربي

This is a very quick and easy recipe. I usually use sliced French bread, but you can use any type of bread you like. The number of pieces will depend on the size of the bread. In this recipe, I made five slices of French bread.


  • 5 tbsp. Philadelphia cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp. diced mint
  • ¼ cup green olives
  • 1/3 cup red olives
  • ½ cup parsley
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp non-pareil capers (optional)


  1. Use a spoon to mix cream cheese and mint then set aside.
  2. To make the olive mixture, grind green olives, red olives, parsley, garlic, pepper, cumin, non-pareil capers and salt, in a food processor.
  3. Put the olive mixture in a bowl and add the chopped tomato. Stir until blended.
  4. Toast the bread.
  5. Spread some of the cream cheese mixture on each slice of bread.
  6. Top with the olive mixture.
