This is a sauce that is made with tomatoes and fresh cilantro much like salsa. It is very popular in the Arabian Peninsula. Some people like to add jalapenos to make it spicy. Usually it is served with rice.

  • 3 tomatoes cut into 4 pieces
  • 1/2 cup of fresh cilantro, chopped (Add more or less depending on your taste preferences)
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cumin

  1. Put all ingredients in the food processor. Mix until sauce is formed. You can add 1 or 2 tbsp. of water to make it easy to blend in the food processor.

If you want the Sahawiq to be spicy add one chilly or jalapeno.
