Vermicelli (she’reya in Arabic) is a type of pasta that is very thin. It is popular in India, where is also known as Seviyan. Vermicelli is used to make many types of desserts. Some people like to add nuts or raisins to it. In this recipe, I will show you how to make a simple vermicelli dessert. You can add your favorite flavors if you wish. It is good served with coffee or Adani tea.



  • 2packets of Pakistani roasted vermicelli
  • 4 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • Nutella for decorating


  1. Crush the vermicelli into very small pieces.
  2. Combine vermicelli and the butter in a pot.
  3. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until vermicelli is golden brown, approx. 8 minutes. Stirring the vermicelli will prevent it from burning.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Add the sweetened condensed milk and mix well.
  6. Let cool completely. It takes about 30 minutes.
  7. Then shape the vermicelli into small balls. (I used a small plastic cup to shape them)
  8. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  9. Decorate the vermicelli with Nutella.
